Book presentation and discussion: Simone Kucher - Die lichten Sommer

Dienstag, 09. April 2024, 19:00 – 20:30, Dokumentationszentrum Flucht, Vertreibung, Versöhnung

Liz grows up in a village in southern Germany. Unlike anyone else there, she is the child of German expellees who had to leave their home in Czechoslovakia in 1945. While her mother Nevenka withdraws more and more into her memories, Liz looks ahead. But how does a young woman manage to come into her own with such an emotional burden in her family history? In her debut novel, Simone Kucher tells a moving story about identity, being uprooted and the passing on of trauma.
