Odessa's Heart must beat on.

An Evening for Ukraine

Music - Reading - Discussion

The event aims to use the unifying power of literature and music to send a signal of solidarity with Ukraine.

Ira Peter, journalist and author, will read from her award-winning city writer's blog, and the scholar of literature Ronja Dierks will present poems by young people in Odessa that directly reflect the events of the war. The music of the duo Kyiany, inspired by jazz and world folklore, will open the evening's horizons beyond Odessa.

Finally, a discussion moderated by Prof. Dr. Igor Kąkolewski, Director of the Centre for Historical Research Berlin of the Polish Academy of Sciences, will bring the participants together with the Odessa-based journalist and German teacher Karina Beigelzimer, who will be connected online.

An event in cooperation with the German Cultural Forum Eastern Europe.
