Heimsuchung – A Century’s Story. Based on the bestseller by Jenny Erpenbeck

SOLD OUT
Exclusive school premiere followed by a Q&A session for pupils on the film adaptation of the novel HEIMSUCHUNG – A CENTURY’S STORY. Directed by the legendary and Oscar®-winning Volker Schlöndorff, the film spans the entire 20th century and centres on a house by Lake Scharmützel, where 15 life stories converge to form a ‘magnifying glass on German history’, through which displacement, loss, home and memory are played out in the lives of specific characters. The novel on which it is based is already regarded as a literary classic and is required reading nationwide for the German A-level exams; author Jenny Erpenbeck became the first German ever to win the International Booker Prize in 2024.
